John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy was born May 29, 1917 and was assassinated November 22, 1963. He was the 35th president of the United States and he served from 1961 to 1963. He served in the military as commander of the Motor Torpedo Boat PT-109 during World War II, after the war he decided to get into politics. With encouragement from his father, Kennedy represented Massachuttes 11th congressional distric in the House of Representatives from 1947 to 1953 in the Democratic position, and served in the Senate from 1953 until 1960. He defeated the Republican candidate, Nixon, in the 1960 presidential election. He was the second-youngest President , the first President born in the 20th century, and the youngest President ever elected at the age of 43. Kennedy was also the first and only Catholic President ever and the only one to have won a Pulitzer Prize. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald was the one suspected and charged with the assassination but was not killed.
